Completed Comics

Postby Coldfire on Sun Jan 20, 2008 7:02 am

So, this was inspired when I saw that mevanova mentioned A Miracle of Science (which is a good comic) in Krozam's thread - but which is especially exciting, because it's complete! You don't come across completed comics all the time (especially after the fact - usually it's from following them up through the end.) I suppose it's because so much of online comics are based around the community - and when the story is finished, you won't have people checking the website every day, talking about what will happen in the next update, and so on.

But that's kind of sad. It's fun to find a completed comic every once in a while (no crazy suspense, for one! ;) And sometimes you just want to read a complete story). It's such an accomplishment - most of these took years, and there are so many that never finish, that the ones that do really should be commended for it, rather than just disappearing into the depths of the internet.

I take a long time to get to my point. But it is this: I thought it would be fun for people to share or talk about comics that they've come across (that they enjoy, obviously) that have told their complete story in full.

I'll start! (I've been meaning to make a list like this for a while - I don't want to forget them, just because I don't check them every week or whatever.)

All of these are comics that I would highly recommend - all of them are great stories and comics. (I'd give more detail about each of them, but this post is too long already. :-P)

Mixed Myth
Inverloch (from the creator of The Phoenix Requiem)
Get Medieval (Finished 4 days ago!)
Wish3
Angel Moxie
Between Two Worlds (officially finished yesterday. From the creators of The Broken Mirror)
Boy Meets Boy (from the creator of Friendly Hostility)
Juathuur
Demonology 101 (This is really a classic. Read it if you haven't.)
It’s Walky!

EDIT: Now with links.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance. I had high hopes of being Evil when I was two, but in my youth I came upon a firefly burning in a spider's web. I saved the victim's life."
"The firefly's?" said the minstrel.
"The spider's. The blinking arsonist had set the web on fire."

Ooo, good idea for a thread! I shall add Indefensible Positions, which is not suited to the faint of heart or the close-minded. Some violence, a little gore, lots of ideas.

Another one I discovered (and read) today:
Last Blood
It's a zombie comic, but a good and interesting zombie comic! Working on the sequel right now.
But seriously, zombie comic means (explicit) blood and gore and death, so definitely pg-13, and maybe older.
As funny as it sounds, from the writer of "Marry Me."
