This is a piece that I wrote about a year ago while on pilgrimage to the Baha'i shrines in Haifa, Israel. I found that inspiration suddenly hit me. I know that I will use it in a book at some point. But thoughts of novels are far down the road. Anyway here is in the entry.

On a vast, rocky, gray expanse dark with overcast clouds stood the knights. Tired and downtrodden, depressed yet pious they stood before their Lady. As one the plated knights knelt, causing thunder throughout the cliffs, as She was carried to Her pyre. In a saintly white dress She was laid, holding a single crimson rose. Her cheeks pale and lightly touched with rouge, Her lips painted of strawberries.
As one the knights saluted, gauntlets to hearts. Tears dripped from eyes, but there no sound passed, but for the wind. The priest stepped forward and said some words; words that were lost in the somber setting. There were no smells, no light; to the assembled it seemed as if the world grieved for Her loss. The priest turned and stood before the Lady. He clapped his hands. The sound echoed through out the area, and as he spread his arms flames descended from his fingers, setting aflame the kindling.
All was suddenly doused in darkness and the full moon shone brightly over the cliff where She was lain. Its piercing rays fell solely upon the pyre as it burst to life. Her spirit was leaving, winging its flight to the world beyond. Moonbeams reflected on the plated crowd making them shine like Her divine heralds.

Lol, sorry it's a snippet, I've tried forming the story, but it hasn't come yet. Maybe it's time that I sit down and work on it though. Thanks for the encouragement, let me see what I can pull together. Very Happy
