This woman rocks. She is awesome. Everything she sings. Kinda like Nora Jones to me. My favorites are:
Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
Funnyman
Suddenly I see
Other Side of the World
Saving my Face.
She's got the most wonderful voice, IMHO. She's an alto, which I prefer for listening music. The lyrics are original and the guitar accompaniment is subtle, rhythmic and wonderful.
I don't know too much about music, but I love her stuff. _________________ "Find what you're following and chase it down."

I discovered her when I heard Suddenly I See on the radio a few months ago and couldn't get the damn song out of my head. I love it, though.
Her live solo performances are veeery cool and incredibly awesome and unique. She has an electronic looping system, and - well, just watch it (link below!). But, seriously, doing your own back-up? That takes skill, and metronomic discipline. And foot coordination. o.O (Watch the whole thing - she does some pretty awesome crazy stuff towards the end.)

"The firefly's?" said the minstrel.
"The spider's. The blinking arsonist had set the web on fire."

That is...amazing. Wow. Most girl's would just get a band. Go her doing it all herself. _________________ "Find what you're following and chase it down."

I love this gal- there are a couple of songs of hers I was starting to work on to do a solo acoustic thing. She's right in my comfortable singing range unlike most of the stuff I try to sing that are songs by women. I used to be able to hit some higher notes, but today- notsomuch!
The looping thing is very cool and actually lot of folks are doing it. A local friend of mine: http://www.billyheller.com/BillyHeller/PageInfo/Home.aspx who is amazingly good was using this set up at his last gig I saw. It really looks like fun. You do have to be able to count good though. ^_^
