So I finally have time to think about things other than classwork...

I'm a senior in college studying to be an Interior Designer, but I have always loved to draw and sketch anything and everything. A lot of my focus has been on buildings interior and exteriors of late but I love doing fan art or trying to copy another person's style, and because of that I don't quite have my own (as far as drawing people that is). I love creating things from junk and once when I was little I turned my family's pool table into a Barbie mansion with Tinker-toys, cardboard, spools, string and anything else that was lying around.

My favorite thing to do above all else though is read. You can learn so much from books and I just love getting tied up in a book, the ones you can't put down are my favorite. I like almost anything fantasy and have read little else but that... I like historical fiction and mystery to a point, I read Laurie King's Mary Russel series which is a continuation of the Sherlock Holmes adventures but with a slightly more feminine theme to it.

Hmm, I don't know what else to say so...

Hi everyone! :D

Hmm you will do just fine, just don't let any of the crazyness around here scare you...
If you excuse me I have to go back to my work induced coma now.

Heya Mira ;}

If you have any sketches, I'd love to see them. I'm trying to teach myself exterior design of sorts (I'm mostly a character artist that dabbles in environments), so it would be much appreciated to see some of your work and hear about your inspirations. Feel free to email me.

Since you're a bibliophile as well as a designer and artist, I have a bunch of suggestions for great books that show rich cultural architectural details as well as some serious landscaping inspirations. If you're interested, lemme know, I can link them here or email, whatever Barb wants.

Welcome to the forums ;}

High praise for anyone in the field of building Barbie estates, I'll say.

HELLO. I type in caps lock a lot, but it doesn't mean I'm yelling. Often. ):

Welcome!!!

What you do- that is SO cool. I know what I'm saying, among other stuff I do setting design for plays, & it's hard. real hard. Interior design that is both good looking & you can actually live in? that the best!
Good then, & welcome again!

True Aerin, I'm ALWAYS weird, but not sleeping for 3 days makes my spelling & phrasing kinda, well, ODD. Sometimes- I don't even understand myself...

It was not a choice, rather then a 2-way apology for style...

Also, there are different kinds of weird. Weird and worn out from school/work, weird and really tired, weird and on a sugar rush, weird and bored, weird and overstimulated, weird and hungry, weird and high on orange juice (although that's mostly just Ceri...), and so on...
Here in Xyliaville, we reach new levels of weird, every day.

That is why this is a kind of home.
Home of the weird, from around the globe.
Comforting. :)

Wow, I didn't expect so many replies, thanks for a warm welcome. I'll try to reply to as many as possible but I'm kinda new to this whole forum thing. The only other forum I joined besides this one didn't let me actually post anything (it was very sad-like seeing your favorite food laid out on a table but unable to touch it!) so to Strange Ian's question I didn't hang around the Tally forums (although I might have tried to set up an account... -.^? ).

I'll try to post a picture of one of my sketches if I can figure out how to...

Oh, you'll get into it. In a little while, you'll be foruming like a madman. Litterally (see previous post about weirdness...).
But what forum did you join where you weren't allowed to post?

Get an account at Imageshack or Photobucket, that's what most people here use. It's free and pretty easy to handle. I mean, I can manage it...
