Because this section of the forum is getting dusty. Because I said so. And because I CAN.

Swing your playlist/cd on shuffle and write the chorus of the first five songs you hear, no skipping, no cheating, no matter how cheesy/embarrassing it is. Unless it's like...a foreign language that you can't type. That's fine.

Post it here, and we guess, and whoever gets the most wins the prize*!

Ok, here goes the first:

This isn't the life for me
This isn't the way I wanna be
And let me tell you
Death will come when I'm good and ready

The next one doesn't have a chorus, so i'm going to skip it.

2.
Cause all that I ask for
Is turning to ashes
When all of my passion
Crumbles around me
Im still gonna get to
All that surrounds me
When everything comes down
There's nothing to die for

3.
Welcome to my hideaway, my secret place
How I arrived I can't explain
You're welcome too, if you wanna stay
But everyone just runs away

4.
Bring it on, bring it on big time
Bring it on, Bring it on down
Bring it on
The rancorous return from their graves
Won't you bring it on, bring it on big time
Bring it on, bring it on down
Bring it on
Behold your town will burn
As the raging hounds return

5.
Set the ball A-Rollin'
I'll be clicking off the miles
On the train of consequences
My boxcar life O' style
My thinking is derailed
I'm tied up to the tracks
The train of consequences
There ain't no turning back

The playlist contained about half of the music in my laptop - and it's almost all metal. I've got two saved playlists, one for metal (and some alternative rock) and one for everything else, and I chose to use the metal one for this.

You're lucky none of these are in Finnish... :P

Man I already suck at this game.

Anyway, here's five. And choruses may be TOO easy, so...I guess just pick the first line or the chorus. (I'm like a ten-year old changing the rules to suit my needs as things go...)

1. 'Fear nobody but his majesty/My spirit, you'll be deep
For you I wait/silently
It seems that you believe in me'

2. 'I want to be/under the sea
in an octopus's garden with you'

3. 'Gimme something that I never felt
Gimme something that I understand
Gimme something that I'll never lose again'

4. 'All we got is this moment/21st century is yesterday
You can care all you want/Everybody does, yeah, that's okay'

5. 'One last kiss for you/One more wish to you
Please make up your mind, girl/I'd do anything for you'

...One would think to check lyric sites, I guess...OH WELL.

Yeah, it's "I Am". I didn't expect it to be the first one guessed... but Godsmack is awesome. :D

And you knew it from the chorus? That's quite impressive...

"I Am" isn't even close to the best from Godsmack. Try "I Stand Alone" and "Serenity" for comparison.

I can't figure out how to shuffle my library. So these are songs starting from the end of my list on my work comp...

You're the one to make me cry
You're the one to take me home
Of all the people in my life my thoughts keep returning to you

Turn off your mind
Relax and float downstream
It is not dying
It is not dying

And I wake up in your room
Share one piece of your life
When tomorrow comes we may not be here at all

I don't know why
Nobody told you
How to unfold your love
I don't know how
Someone controlled you
They bought and sold you

Which will you take for
For your one and all
And tell me now
Which will you love the best

Makes kind of neat song. ^_^

Krozam: Yeah, he sings it to make me stop singing...and that's a lot :D !
Barb..I know the 4th one!! i just can't think of the name!!! Argh
Anyhow...

Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn

I can't I can't I can't stand losing you
I can't I can't I can't stand losing you
I can't I can't I can't stand losing you
I can't I can't I can't stand losing you
I can't I can't I can't stand losing you
I can't I can't I can't stand losing you
I can't I can't I can't stand losing you
I can't I can't I can't stand losing you
....anyone can't guess the name of that song......but who's the artist??

And you can't always get what you want, honey.
You can't always get what you want.
You can't always get what you want.
But if you try sometimes, yeah,
You just might find you get what you need!

Okay, now we skip Last March of the Ents from the LotR, and Tattoo by Mike Oldfield coz neither of them have words

Tell me did you sail across the sun
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated
And tell me did you fall from a shooting star
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there

Skip Monty Python's 'French Taunter' and 'Whiter Shade of Pale' by Procul Harem (no real choruses)

With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you

Oooo-oo-oo BArb is it 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'?????? I was so excited i just remembered that!! Its one of the songs my dad regularly plays and labels 'one of the best songs of all time'. That and 'You can't always get what you want' by the Rolling Stones, and 'She's Waiting' By Eric Clapton and some others...my brother's home sick today and he just gave me the weirdest look coz i just started jumping around and getting really exicted coz i figured it out :D  :D It's by George Harrison (or the beatles, depending on which version you have)

I know! I know!
Barb's no.2 is Love You To, by the Beatle George Harrison (one of my favorite songs!)

The 3rd is also a Beatles song, also by George "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" !
I have a meeting, so maybe later I'll type some of my own...
"Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness."
Samuel Becket
"I don't have a drinking problem, except when I can't get a drink".
Tom Waits

Oo, can I play? (As my third post, and it's not even about Xylia . . .)

Only because I know one of Aerin's off of the bat - the 4th song there is Drops of Jupiter by Train. :) I love that song.

This is a fun idea. Though hard - I've only recognized 2 so far! (though one or two of them I recognized but couldn't place) I guess it's only fair I go too. (This'll be interesting . . . out of 1500 songs, how many do I actively listen to? And how many am I actively embarrassed by . . . ?)

No one loves you and you know it
Don't pretend that you enjoy it and you don't care
Cause now I wouldn't lie and tell you all the things you wanna hear
'Cause I hate you
'Cause I hate you
'Cause I hate youuuuu

( . . . a happy start.)

And we skip a song in Italian, since I suppose it wouldn't be fair ;)

One way or another
I'm gonna find ya
I'm gonna getcha getcha getcha

Aaand next is another Italian song . . .

Skipping again because Gerudo Valley from Zelda has no words . . .

Jealousy
turning saints into the sea
swimming through sick lullabies
choking on your alibis
but it's just the price I pay
destiny is calling me
open up my eager eyes

<and I'm not writing the last line of that chorus 'cause it gives it away :-P. Is that cheating on my part? Eh, it's really mainstream anyways.>

Warning
live without warning
I'm saying warning
live with warning
without
alright

But I'd play with fire to break the ice
And I'd play with a nuclear device
Is it something I'll regret, why do I want what I can't get?
I wish it didn't have to be so bad

Two by the same artist! And it's on random, honest. Not my fault. T_T I was hoping for more exciting songs (or at least ones not so typically teenagery and emo, haha).
"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance. I had high hopes of being Evil when I was two, but in my youth I came upon a firefly burning in a spider's web. I saved the victim's life."
"The firefly's?" said the minstrel.
"The spider's. The blinking arsonist had set the web on fire."

Haha, yeah, the second song is from Mean Girls - I didn't know that, actually (I've never seen the movie. I should at some point). But I just looked it up, and yep it is. (It makes me wonder where I got the song from in the first place though . . .) Oh, it's called One Way or Another (bet you didn't guess that title) by Blondie.

Elle, checking lyrics sites has gotta be cheating ;) (. . . ignoring the fact that you started the game and therefore you set the rules)

Nah, nah, I meant checking the lyric site to make sure the lyrics I was writing were right. XD One of the artists I had on there CANNOT SING FOR THE LIFE OF THEM.
