Page 5 - "But he did."

Otherwise, there wouldn't be a story.

Yeah, it isnt up yet. Sorry.

Im posting early in the little forum to admit and warn you dearest readers that this page Five (5) is the one I have been the most uneasy about. It's expositional, and confusing, and I'm not sure how it flies. Once through this part, Xylia gets more fun. (I hope.) First a bit more backstory, and then a dark turn with rainy alleys, seduction, and furries. Furries? HUH?!!

(the furries are not seductive.)
(the furries are NOT CHICKENS.)

BWHA!!

Kezzie is trying to get the new layout up for tomorrow, let us cross our wee fingers.

Up soon. Me promise.

I followed it just fine, to be honest, Barb.
Your left-to-right text within panels is usually good enough to draw the reader to the correct next text box, and it did for me in this case.
Don't worry so much. =)

I wasn't sure whether or not to keep going left-right, or jump to the bottom and move up a bit, but I found that either way you read it, it makes sense, so hurrah!

The layout looks a lot more functional now, too. :)

I had no problem- my only complain is that your taking all of my free time- I can't read this over & over all day! but I can't stop... so... pretty... wings & sparkles... sigh... I do enjoy Mondays.

I did find myself doubling back between the second and third panel, but no big. If I had read this in any on comic or webcomic I wouldn't have thought a thing about it.

LOVE that last panel showing the C-Man's POV of Xylia! She is such a wonderful looking character, Barb! :-)

Bwha ha ha!!
That's askin' a lot, Liria! I have my PhD in Worry.

Seriously though, thank you to everyone for the positive comments. Actually my main worry was not so much the dialogue transitions (although I did worry about that)but the story itself. Its setting up the main structure of the plot, and I'm still not sure if it works. We'll see!

Hagar, that is so nice of you! I'm glad you enjoy the art that much ^_^!

Thank you Steve! Unfortunately, Xylia wont be reappearing for a while now. It was actually going to be a longer time, but I rewrote things. THis is a tricky story. Giving me so much trouble.

It shifts gears now - goes down one road for a time, and then shifts gears again and gets pretty dark...and even a bit sexay. I changed the rating to teen. Nothing bad, but not fluffy either. I think it will be fun.

We'll see.

I'll probably change it AGAIN. Ive done that about ten times.

Creating the start is always the bumpy road. Well, then the second act is hell.
Then writing the ending is hard. Writing is just HARD.

-.-

Thanks guys! ^_^ You make it worth while.

I kinda had to look twice to get the right order, but it was just that, a quick look to see I got it right. Not a big problem.

I think the page looks absolutely magical Barbington. I like the way you have told the story here too. Is indeed deep-rooted reasons out and about here. The two looks really wonderful, Mondays are such nice days....

Barb, I have a question... In commenting about these updated pages, are you looking for any feedback concerning artwork? I have one wee suggestion, but I didn't want to step on any toes if this wasn't the sort of place for it. ;} When in Rome, n'all...

Dang, tho, you are so cool with the lighting effects... I'm completely sold on those profile shots of the second panel. Well done!

Heyo! I'm up at 2 AM?

YEah, I just cleaned vomit off my carpet. Ah, the joys of momdom.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for the comments, y'all and by all means, Mere, if you have art suggestions I am looking for that! Anything to make it better! I likely wont change THAT page, but I will take your comments to improve the next ones!

What I DONT like is this crap:

"Another comic for Barb Jacobs to start and decide to quit halfway through as well. Thanks, but no thanks. Burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me."

Some delightful person put that lone comment up on my Webcomic list page and gave Xylia one star just because I stopped working on Talismen.

Nice.

But yeah, I love critiques. THats how you get better!

^_^

^ :x Ugh, that`s a crappy comment that person put up. Let them talk Barb, they don`t know what they`re talking about.

I`m in love with the new page. The story is going the right way so far in my opinion, it`s not too much confusion and a bit of `huh??` is good, it makes people curious.
The last two panels made me go all `aaaawww!`
`Find me Claudius` <- squeee!

"Oh, I take the time and the effort to read your comic, entirely for free, therefore you owe me eternal gratitude and you must keep providing said comic, preferably on a daily basis, until I tire of it! Whaaa whaa!"
There's a strip on the same sort of theme I read somewhere...
Right, it's from Go for it! Very funny, but with some foul language.
