There isn't anything wrong with having characters with similar qualities. Take Robert E. Howard, for example. His most famous character is Conan the Cimmerian, the quintessential sword and sorcery hero. But Conan shares many qualities with Howards other creations, such as Solomon Kane, Bran Mak Mor, Kull, and Red Sonja.
You could also look at Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion concept as another example of this. Elric is just one iteration of this eternal champion, Campell's Hero with a thousand faces done literally.
Stephen King's Dark Tower brings together many of his stories, and he has claimed that all of his stories are related to that work. If you haven't read the Dark Tower, I highly recommend it.
Similarities between Ollie and Claude aren't anything to worry about. In fact, you may want to embrace them. Those are the qualities that you consider heroic, the qualities that make you come back to those characters and want to explore their lives.
