I'm betting some of you have seen this dude's video on youtube "Drifting." I finally splurged and bought his CD. It's awesome. I've always loved acoustic guitar, and when you add that soft percussion in there...<3

Andy McKee, ladies and gents. Check him out.

As a total sidenote--Barb, you do acoustic guitar, right? Ever make any CD's?

This reminds me alot of Erik Mongrain and what he calls air tapping.

Wow. Both of those are so cool. It's so awesome and interesting when you see someone approaching/playing such a common instrument in a totally unconventional, new way, and producing something as cool as this. I mean, I would've thought that I knew how someone was supposed to play a guitar.

It's taking what's "proper" and being like, screw this. I can play this my way, and it sounds damn awesome. That makes me happy. :)
"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance. I had high hopes of being Evil when I was two, but in my youth I came upon a firefly burning in a spider's web. I saved the victim's life."
"The firefly's?" said the minstrel.
"The spider's. The blinking arsonist had set the web on fire."

KEZ! I didn't know ANYONE else who knew of Andy! I bought his "Art of Motion" cd a year or so ago and I LOVE it. His is a wonderful style.

Heck, all of the videos submitted by candyrat.com are fantastic. I also bought Robert Taylor's "Rabid Petting Zoo"--so strange, but so good.

Have you looked into Don Ross? He's pretty fabulous, too!
